We have seen a significant decrease in teen pregnancy rates over the ten+ years our partners have been facilitating Draw the Line, Respect the Line with local middle school students. Harrisonburg saw a decrease from 55 births per 1000 females age 15 - 17 to just 19. Students emerge from the program more knowledgeable about risks to their sexual health and better able to advocate for their health and safety.
Partners across the state find that the students enjoy Draw the Line, Respect the Line and learn a lot from it. In the 2021-22 school year, more than 4,100 students participated, and overall they demonstrated a knowledge gain of 21%.
