Goal Getters: Career Exploration
What is Goal Getters? Goal Getters is a Positive Youth Development program built from of the evidence-based curriculum Project AIM. With 6th-8th grade youth, we explore what it means to create a legacy, grow self-confidence, set goals to reach a desired career, and take steps now toward a positive future. Over 6 weeks, students will develop goals, complete a career quiz, explore local businesses through regular field trips, meet local professionals, design a vision board, and engage in activities with young people their age.
Goal Getters will meet weekly at the Ice House Building: 127 West Bruce St. Harrisonburg, VA 22801, unless otherwise specified.
Goal Getters will take place on the following days and times:
- Week 1: Monday 5/5 and Wednesday 5/7, 5:30 - 7 pm
- Week 2: Monday 5/12 and Wednesday 5/14, 5:30 - 7 pm
- Week 3: Monday 5/19 and Wednesday 5/21, 5:30 - 7 pm
- Week 4: Wednesday 5/28 5:30 - 7 pm
- Week 5: Monday 6/2 and Wednesday 6/4, 5:30 – 7pm
- Week 6: Monday 6/9 5:30 - 7 pm and Wednesday 6/11 (celebration) time and place TBD
